Wages
How much will I earn?
The amount you get paid depends on whether you're a labourer, doing an apprenticeship, and also on the trade you're working in, and the award you work under.
To give you a basic idea on what to expect:
| Semi-Skilled | average wage = $440 per week Scaffolder, builder's labourer, concrete worker, crane operator, bricklayer, plasterer, civil construction labourer |
| Skilled | average wage = $800 per week Solid plasterer, building contractor, carpenter, cabinet maker, stonemason, driller's assistant, plant operator, or other trade-qualified occupations |
| Para-Professional | average wage = $980 per week Architectural drafter, building contractor, building site manager, building technician |
| Professional | average wage = $1070 per week Building surveyor, civil engineer, architect, project manager, town planner |
Remember these are averages. The amount you are paid depends on what you do, and how good you are at doing it!
