Wages

How much will I earn?

The amount you get paid depends on whether you're a labourer, doing an apprenticeship, and also on the trade you're working in, and the award you work under.

To give you a basic idea on what to expect:

Semi-Skilled average wage = $440 per week
Scaffolder, builder's labourer, concrete worker, crane operator, bricklayer, plasterer, civil construction labourer
Skilled average wage = $800 per week
Solid plasterer, building contractor, carpenter, cabinet maker, stonemason, driller's assistant, plant operator, or other trade-qualified occupations
Para-Professional average wage = $980 per week
Architectural drafter, building contractor, building site manager, building technician
Professional average wage = $1070 per week
Building surveyor, civil engineer, architect, project manager, town planner

Remember these are averages. The amount you are paid depends on what you do, and how good you are at doing it!

Construction is an output industry. If you get results, you'll be rewarded.
